MA Monomer
Methyl Acrylate

Description
Methyl Acrylate (MA) is a clear, colorless liquid with a strong, pungent odor. The molecule contains a polymerizable vinyl group at one end and a reactive ester group at the other. It is slightly soluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents, and has relatively low volatility. Its vapor is denser than air.
Methyl Acrylate readily copolymerizes with ethylene, acrylonitrile, styrene, and (meth)acrylic acid. Incorporation of the ester functionality imparts durability, flexibility, elasticity, adhesion, and cohesive strength to the resulting polymers.
